LAMBDA Alpha 1000 declared fit for medical use

veröffentlicht : 22 Jun 2005

Lambda has announced that the Alpha 1000 range of configurable AC-DC switch mode power supplies has been approved for medical applications. Following rigorous testing, the power specialist has received UL60601-1 and IEC/EN60601-1 medical safety agency approvals on the power supplies, which are suitable for use in a broad variety of medical applications demanding the flexibility of a modular product.

The power supplies also meet EN55022 Level A specifications, achieved with a 212- microamp earth-leakage filter; lower-leakage filters down to 50 microamps are available. The series is CE marked and approved to UL60950, CSA60950 and EN60950 standards.

The Alpha 1000 units can provide between one and 14 adjustable outputs. Up to seven modules – single or dual outputs – can be fitted with output voltages from 1.8V to 48V and output currents of up to 120 Amps; no minimum loads are required. Inhibit, AC-fail, current-share and DC-good signals are available as options. All models accept a wide range of input voltages – from 85VAC to 264VAC – and contain active power factor correction (PFC) circuitry to meet EN61000-3-2 standards.

The fan-cooled units measure a compact 63 x 200 x 279mm, and have a combination of screw or fast-on terminals for quick and easy installation.
