Lambda, the specialist power supply manufacturer, has launched a series of high reliability, high power density, high efficiency power supplies that are RoHS compliant. The HWS series achieves a maximum power density of 5W per cubic inch in a unit small enough to fit into a standard 1U enclosure, 60% smaller than the previous generation of power supplies.

The HWS series is available in 15, 30, 50, 100 and 150W versions, with nominal output voltages selectable from 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24 or 48V. Each model accepts a continuous input from 85 to 265VAC. The series can be used in any equipment requiring a high reliability power supply, but are particularly suited to factory automation, test and measurement, automated service, communications and broadcast equipment applications. They conform to SEMI F47 requirements for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

David Buck, Lambda Product Manager, commented: “The HWS series is considerably more advanced than the previous generation of supplies. Not only has power density more than doubled, but advances in our manufacturing and design technologies mean that the supplies are significantly lower cost than previous generation products.”

Operating temperature of the series is -10 to 70ºC. Dimensions range from 26.5x82x80mm for the 15W version through to 37x82x160mm for the 150W version. Weight ranges from 180 to 500g.
