Ultra-thin convection cooled single-output power supplies in the new RTW range from the new collaborative TDK - Lambda product brand are 50% smaller and 60% lighter than typical products of the same rating, making them an attractive choice for use in modern equipment where small size is invariably required. In addition, RTW power supplies have been designed to be environmentally friendly, and they conform fully with the requirements of the RoHS Directive.
Offered in 50W, 100W, 150W and 300W versions, the new power supplies have wide range 85 - 265V ac input. Nominal output voltages range from 3.3V to 48V and users can trim the voltage to suit any special application requirements. Overvoltage and overcurrent protection are provided as standard.
Typical efficiency for the supplies up to 89%, depending on the model and supply voltage, which means that power losses and heat generation are minimised.
Owing to their small size, the RTW power supplies offer exceptional versatility. Unit height ranges from 22mm for 50W models up to 40mm for 300W model. They incorporate facilities for remote sensing, which makes it easy to compensate for voltage drop in long wiring runs, and for remote control, which allows the supply output to be turned on and off by an external signal. For 300W models, an external voltage signal can also be used to vary the power supply’s output voltage.
They can also be used in master-slave mode, where the output voltage of the slave tracks that of the master. The 300W supplies also feature a current balance function which allows true load sharing for up to four supplies connected in parallel and have a power fail signal.
Suitable for mounting vertically or horizontally, ultra-slim RTW power supplies are offered with or without covers and have terminal block connection.
RTW power supplies are CE marked and are fully approved to UL, C-UL and TÜV safety standards.
