TDK Corporation is pleased to announce that three employees of its TDK-Lambda UK facility ran in this year’s North Devon AONB Marathon and Half Marathon. The event, which was also sponsored by the company, centres around Woolacombe Bay and raises funds for the
North Devon Hospice.
TDK-Lambda’s Mark Phillips (Regional Sales Manager), Nic Shilleto (Assembly Operator) and Kevin Constant (Senior ERP Developer) joined the 700 runners in the event, which has gained a reputation as one of the toughest in the country. It covers some stunning trails through the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), as well as National Trust property.
First of the three TDK-Lambda runners was Nic Shilleto, who ran the half-marathon in 02:02:19. Kevin Constant was hot on his heels with a time of 2:03:53; he came 93rd overall out of the 338 half-marathon runners. Shortly after the race Mark Phillips commented: “The North Devon Half Marathon is one of the hardest races I have ever run and quite an introduction into fell running. I managed to get round in 2 hrs 19 mins, which was about 10 mins over my target and forecasted time.”
About the event, Phil Scotcher, General Manager of TDK-Lambda UK said: “We are pleased to sponsor this great event and help raise funds for our local hospice. Well done to our three runners, all finishing in impressive times.”
