North Devon Power Supply Manufacturer Recognised at Tech South West Awards

TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) is pleased to announce that TDK-Lambda UK has been named Tech Company of the Year at the prestigious Tech South West Awards 2019, held in the Mercure Exeter Rougemont Hotel on 27th November. The annual awards celebrate the region’s fastest growing sector by rewarding innovative technology companies across industries.
TDK-Lambda collected the Tech Company of the Year Award in the category for companies with a revenue of over £5 million per year, beating competition from fellow finalists Amdaris and Open Bionics. The company was commended for its commitment to developing its Ilfracombe facility. Following recent investment, the site now has a £1.2, EMC centre, which enables the company to carry out essential EMC testing in house, in order provide customers with an even more comprehensive service. The company has also recently invested in new equipment, including a state-of-the-art Yamaha 3D optical inspection system, to help further enhance product quality.
Geoff Wilby, Managing Director at TDK-Lambda UK, said: “We are honoured to receive this award, and see it as a testament to the work we’ve put into developing our operations. In the past year, we have made significant investments not only in new technology but also in our facilities, for example by installing 90kW solar panels to improve sustainability. We have also been actively involved with local STEM initiatives, such as the recently announced South West Institute of Technology, to help nurture future talent for the local industries. The technology landscape in the South West is seeing rapid development, and we are proud to be part of this vibrant community.”
