TDK-Lambda UK, a group company of the TDK Corporation, helped raise some much-needed funds for the local community. A raffle, held during the company’s Christmas party, raised £800, which will be split equally between the Chemotherapy Appeal for a new unit at the North Devon District Hospital and the Bicclescombe Park Playground Improvement Group campaign.

About 180 TDK-Lambda employees attended the Christmas dinner at the Saunton Sands Hotel, with top-class entertainment from stage hypnotist Ian Dee followed by JP Leisure Disco. “As one of the major employers in North Devon, we are committed to supporting people and the local community,” said Geoff Wilby, General Manager at TDK-Lambda UK Sales. “We hope the money raised will help these two very important causes reach their targets sooner.”

The Northern Devon Healthcare Trust’s target is to raise £2.2m to provide a purpose built chemotherapy unit at the North Devon District Hospital to treat cancer patients locally to where they live, and the parent-led Bicclescombe Park campaign aims to raise £22,000 to buy new equipment for the playground area in Ilfracombe.
