Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator

We are offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our Health and Safety compliance and culture, playing a vital role in shaping a safer and more sustainable future for TDK-Lambda UK.

We are looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator reporting directly to the HSE Manager who will have responsibility for the Health, Safety & Environmental compliance requirements, to ensure continued certification to ISO 45001 & 14001 and will support the HSE Manager in driving a positive culture and improvement programme of activities.

The successful applicant will support the HSE Manager to ensure that the company is a safe working environment for all employees and activities, using best practice to improve safety and minimise environmental impact.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • General Administration, updating and tracking of all internal and external HSE databases, dashboards and spreadsheets
  • Ensure statutory compliance monitoring, reporting and administration obligations in Health Safety & Environmental are met
  • Administration of ISO 45001 & 14001 certifications and supporting internal & external auditing
  • Support the business in cultural continual improvement strategy and development of a positive health, safety and environmental culture
  • Monitor and report key Targets and Objective and support a continuous improvement programme
  • Support the Health & Safety Committee to drive best practices and employee engagement
  • Administration of the Occupational Health function and process in collaboration with HR
  • Work with the HSE Manager and Leaders at all levels of the business to develop a positive and engaging Health and Safety culture

Skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of Statutory Health, Safety & Environmental regulations and experience in manufacturing and engineering businesses would be advantageous.
  • Experience in a similar role and/or industry is preferable
  • Strong Excel competence and written reporting skills

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, working towards or equivalent
  • Recognised Environmental qualification appropriate to the role (desired).

This is a Grade 3 position (£28,000 - £35,000 DoE).

The successful applicant will work a 37.50 hour week on flexi-time.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 7.30 am – 4.30pm

Friday 7.30 – 12 Noon

In return the company offers excellent conditions of employment, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays per annum, additional 1 days holiday at 10 years service and again at 15 years service, Company Sick Pay Scheme, free Life Assurance and Pension contributions above the statutory minimum (Employee 3.25%, Company 4.75%) and Flexi-time (1 hour either side of start and finish time).
