TDK-Lambda presenting the Test & Measurement Equipment to Petroc
Local power supply manufacturer TDK-Lambda UK has donated £5,000 worth of test and measurement equipment to the Electronics Engineering Department at Petroc. It is envisaged that this equipment will help engineering students during their practical sessions and give them vital experience that they can bring into the real-world engineering environment.
Half of the money was donated by the TDK-Lambda design and development team based in Ilfracombe who won a cash award from the President of parent company TDK in recognition of the work completed in developing the EFE series digital power supplies. The other half of the £5,000 was matched by TDK-Lambda UK.
Commenting on the award Robin Jeffery, Chief Development Officer at TDK-Lambda UK, said: “We believe that the new equipment, which includes an oscilloscope and spectrum analyser, will benefit pupils studying Electronics Engineering by giving vital hands on experience with the most modern kit used in industry today.”
Martin Southam, TDK-Lambda’s EMEA Marketing Director, added: “It is a wonderful gesture from our design team to donate this cash award to benefit Petroc and TDK-Lambda is happy to match the amount. There is a shortage of electronic engineers in North Devon and the UK, and we are pleased to help develop local talent.”
