Facilities Manager

Location : Ilfracombe

We are looking for a Facilities Manager reporting directly to the Manufacturing Director, who will have responsibility for the strategic planning and operational management of the site, buildings and the services and processes supporting the core activities of the organisation.

The successful applicant will be required to ensure that the company is a safe working environment for employees and activities, using best practice to reduce costs, improve safety and minimise environmental impact.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Procurement and contract management of maintenance/service contracts
  • Overall responsibility for site contractor management
  • Project management
  • Planning and managing essential central services
  • Building services consumption monitoring and control
  • Neighbourhood management
  • Environmental management (waste disposal and recycling)
  • Ensuring compliance to all statutory facilities regulations
  • First responder during emergencies, and lead role in the company’s business continuity plan.
  • Planning for future developments in line with business objectives
  • Ownership of Site Security and AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) certification and compliance requirements
  • Leadership of Facilities, Maintenance and Cleaning teams

Knowledge of Statutory facility regulations is essential and any experience in buildings management, construction, surveying, engineering and business studies would be advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of HND/Foundation Degree in facility management, business studies or management or equivalent.
  • IWFM membership desirable
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification appropriate to the role.

The successful applicant will be part of the Leadership Team, working 37.5 hours per week.  

Monday to Thursday 7.30 am – 4.30 pm / Friday 7.30 – 12 Noon (Flexi-time is applicable).

Salary: Up to £60,000 (DoE)
