TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) has announced that 100% of the electricity used in all manufacturing sites in TDK-Lambda Corporation (President: Sanai Hattori) are now from renewable energy sources as of January 2024.
Under the TDK Environmental Vision 2035, TDK-Lambda began operating its core Nagaoka Technical Center (Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture) on electricity derived from 100% renewable energy sources in July 2021, and has been aiming to switch to renewable energy at all its global manufacturing sites as well.
Now that TDK-Lambda Malaysia's two sites (Senai and Kuantan) have signed contracts to purchase renewable energy electricity certificates in March 2024, all of TDK-Lambda's global manufacturing sites have begun operating on electricity derived from 100% renewable energy sources. *
TDK-Lambda Group will continue to develop compact and highly efficient switching power supplies that directly contribute to the stable supply and effective use of renewable energy, while promoting the reduction of CO2 emissions through more effective use of energy in production activities in order to realize a sustainable society.
The entire TDK Group will continue to introduce renewable energy at its manufacturing sites worldwide and will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by aiming to convert 100% of energy use to renewable energy by 2050.
