Just 56mm deep, the new low-profile DSP DIN-rail mounting power supplies from Lambda are specifically designed for easy installation in the shallow cabinets commonly used in building automation and security applications. Offered in versions with power ratings from 7.5W to 100W, the units are suitable for the low-voltage controls which are increasingly finding favour in commercial and residential premises.
Lambda’s DSP single-output power supplies are available with 5, 12, 15 and 24V outputs. Output voltage regulation is better than ±1% from no load to full load, with ripple and noise below 50mV. Users can adjust the output voltage over a small range to compensate for voltage drop in long cable runs and similar factors. Comprehensive overcurrent and overvoltage protection is incorporated and an LED indicator gives instant visual confirmation of output status.
All models in the new DSP range feature universal input which allows them to operate from any AC voltage in the range 90 to 264V, 47 to 63Hz, without the need for adjustment or the setting of selector switches.
The units can supply their full rated output continuously at temperatures from -25ºC to +61ºC without the need for any form of additional cooling, a feature which is particularly valuable when they are used in cramped equipment cabinets which have poor ventilation. Operation at temperatures up to 71ºC is also possible, provided that the supplies are suitably derated.
Based on Lambda’s advanced switchmode power supply technology, which guarantees high operating efficiency combined with minimum harmonic generation, the new DSP supplies for building automation applications carry a wide range of national and international approvals including IEC60950-1, UL508, CE mark and NEC Class 2 compliance.
