TDK-Lambda UK Ltd is a successful and long established design and manufacturing company of standard and configurable AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies situated on the pleasant North Devon Coast. We are entering an exciting period of change and expansion with ambitious plans for the manufacturing facility.
An exciting position has arisen for two Electrical Engineering Apprentices working within TDK-Lambda Service Centre. The apprenticeship will involve working as part of a team to become proficient in the understanding of electrical/electronic circuits and manufacturing within the power electronics industry.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
The successful candidate will spend designated periods within various departments throughout the organisation to gain a thorough understanding of TDK design, test and manufacturing processes. Details of the training plan are available on request, Ilfracombe site visit also available prior to application.
The planned training schedule will enable the candidate to become established in electrical and electronic failure analysis with an excellent component level understanding of power supply topologies and ancillary circuits. Furthermore, as TDK-Lambda Service Centre is part of the wider Customer Systems technical support group, there will be the opportunity to be involved in customer site visits, system testing and troubleshooting.
Working week:
Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 & Fridays 07:30 – 12 noon
Course:
EAL L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
(Electronics) (day release at Petroc) 24 – 30 months
Skills required:
Computer literate, ability to work as part of a team, manage workload and prioritise tasks, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Qualifications required:
GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/5 or grade C (or above).
GCSE Physics would be desirable but not essential
