TDK Corporation is pleased to announce that TDK-Lambda UK hosted an EEF Sustainability Event at its Ilfracombe facility on October 19th, 2016. As part of the North Devon Manufacturers Association (NDMA), TDK-Lambda’s membership includes affiliate membership of EEF, The Manufacturers’ Organisation (formerly the Engineering Employers' Federation), which works with industry to support and champion manufacturing and engineering throughout the UK and Europe. The NDMA hosts regular meetings, lectures, visits and social events to promote the development of businesses in the local region. This event was the latest in a series of EEF events for organisations to share ideas and experience on improving environmental performance.
Phil Scotcher, General Manager TDK-Lambda UK, presented “Reducing Environmental Impact: the TDK-Lambda Journey” to a group of local manufacturing companies and industry participants. As an ISO 14001:2004 registered company, TDK-Lambda is committed to continuous improvement; minimising how their operations impact the environment; and complying with ever tougher laws and regulations. “TDK Corporation sets very high standards for every location, recording energy and water consumption, along with the amount of waste generated” commented Phil. “Our Quality Management System reflects this throughout our operation, from the initial design to the finished product."
Delegates were given a tour of the main manufacturing facility, which produces in excess of 200,000 power supplies each year, before holding an open forum discussion on best practice. TDK-Lambda will host another NDMA event on January 19th 2017, allowing members to follow the process of designing, manufacturing and delivering configurable power supplies, including its new recently launched QM series.
