Technological advancement in DC-DC converters is continuing apace at Lambda as shown by the new PAQ100H range, the company’s most efficient, highest power quarter-brick DC-DC to-date. Satisfying designers’ demands for higher power and higher efficiencies the new converters deliver output powers up to 180W and efficiencies as high as 92%. The new PAQ100H is an ideal solution for a wide variety of applications, for example, industrial automation systems and distributed power architectures used in telecommunications and IT servers.
The PAQ100H has a nominal input voltage of 48V over an input voltage range of 36 to 75V. The new power supplies are available in six output ratings offering 1.5V at 50A, 1.8V at 50A, 2.5V at 45A, 3.3V at 40A, 5V at 35A and, most notably, 12V at 15A. The availability of a 12V unit is very significant given that industry experts believe that 12V is becoming increasingly important as one of the most significant intermediate bus voltage requirements. Lambda is one of only a few manufacturers of quarter-brick DC-DC converters able to produce a 12V unit.
The new DC-DC converter’s base plate design reduces hot spots and is suitable for heatsink or cold-wall mounting in applications where airflow cooling is not available. Features include overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature protection and automatic restart. All units comply with global safety approvals including UL60950, CSA C22.2 No 60950-00, EN60950 and CE60950. High standards of insulation provide on/off isolation voltages of input-to-case of a 1000VDC, input-to-output of 1500VDC and output-to-case of 1000VDC.
The power supplies’ operating case temperature is from -40°C to 125°C. Each unit comes with a two-years warranty.
